چکیده

Biofortified potato could contribute a major role in food security for millions of people. It help to alleviate worldwide micronutrient malnutrition. An experiment was carried out during 2019-2020 growing season with 49 accessions following randomized complete block design three replications order evaluate and classify agro-morphological traits Breeder seed production centre (BSPC), Debiganj, Panchagarh. Eight quantitative characters i.e. germination percent, foliage coverage, stem number per hill, plant height, vigor, tuber plant, weight yield were measured. Principal components (PC) analysis showed explained 72.16 % the total variation among traits. The first PC assigned 35.22 second 58.47 between more related tuber. Forty-nine germplasm placed on cluster based using hierarchical classification (HCA). All discriminated high morphological observed. Thus, outcomes principal component used study have revealed level genetic contributing identified. CIP403, CIP404, CIP405, CIP413 CIP445 identified as superior relationship PCA bi-plot.

Effects of elevated CO2 and O3 on tuber quality in potato (Solanum tuberosum L.)

This study examined the effects of season-long exposure to elevated carbon dioxide (CO2) and/or ozone (O3) on tuber quality in potato (Solanum tuberosum L. cv. ‘Bintje’). Stands of potato were grown to maturity in open-top chambers (OTCs) in 1998 and 1999 under a factorial combination of three CO2 (ambient, 550 and 680 mol mol−1) and two O3 levels (ambient and elevated; 8 h per day seasonal mea...

Shoot, Stolon, and Tuber Formation on Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) Cuttings in Response to Photoperiod.

The intensity of "tuberization stimulus" in potato shoots (Solanum tuberosum L.) can be assessed from cuttings containing one or more leaves. Cuttings maintained in a mist chamber under long days will form tubers from underground buds if prior to taking the cutting the leaves received sufficient exposure to photoperiods less than the critical photoperiod. The greatest tendency to tuberize was f...

Phosphites Effect on Late Blight Control and Physiological Parameters in Commercial Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) in Argentina

Phosphite (Phi) has been recommended to enhance plant resistance against Phytophthora spp. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of calcium phosphite (PhiCa) and potassium phosphite (PhiK) under field conditions, taking into account physiological parameters, performance and protection against late blight in the foliage of two potato cultivars, and comparing these results to contr...

Histological analysis of the maturation of native and wound periderm in potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) Tuber.

Maturation of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) tuber native and wound periderm and development of resistance to periderm abrasion were investigated utilizing cytological and histochemical techniques. Both native and wound periderm consist of three different tissues: phellem, phellogen and phelloderm. It was previously determined that the phellogen walls of immature native periderm are thin and pro...

Genetic enhancement of oil content in potato tuber (Solanum tuberosum L.) through an integrated metabolic engineering strategy

Potato tuber is a high yielding food crop known for its high levels of starch accumulation but only negligible levels of triacylglycerol (TAG). In this study, we evaluated the potential for lipid production in potato tubers by simultaneously introducing three transgenes, including WRINKLED 1 (WRI1), DIACYLGLYCEROL ACYLTRANSFERASE 1 (DGAT1) and OLEOSIN under the transcriptional control of tuber-...
